The subconscious mind is mighty. I just struggled with these thoughts when I was power walking on an out door track the other day. I actually had a bit of internal dialogue with a bit of swearing and then I had to remind myself to slow down. This may sound really stupid but I was going into such a panic attack feeling as though I was going to pass out, I visualized my mom next to me and I could hear her voice…. she passed away 2 years ago and she always had a calming effect. My goal was to walk 4 times around the track to get one mile in, I made it 2 times but will be going back.
