Thank you so much for sharing this story Jan Barbosa. It doesn’t sound looney at all.

I have heard papers rattling in my kitchen. One night a lid to a pan fell on floor but the lid was one of few items in my dish drainer & it was securely in the dish drainer, deep within my sink. Another time at the first home I bought, a bunch of us were playing cards, we heard my backdoor open/close & then footsteps going into the basement. Just about everyone said at the same time, “Who just came in?” I told them it was my husband & he usually went to the basement to remove work clothes before coming into the house. We waited, no husband, no car. So, I talked another guy into checking out my basement with me, thinking I had an intruder and we found nothing.

I don’t know if you remember dial tone phones? We had one in my bedroom & one in kitchen in the 80’s. The phone upstairs would click, click, click when someone was using the downstairs phone. This happened frequently after my husband and I would go to bed- that freaked me out a bit especially after the phone company said, they had no idea why that would happen.

Last- One night my husband and I were watching TV. We had been sitting in our living room for over and hour. We heard the toaster POP in kitchen, pop as if toast was put in it and it popped up. We both asked at practically the same time, “Did you put toast in the toaster?” Of course we didn’t. I went to check it because if we would have, the toaster would’ve been hot. The toaster was cold.

So, there are many things that happen without explanation. I do believe they are cues and/or possibly “someone” trying to get our attention. I believe your story 110%.
