Sadly, there will always be ignorant people and I feel sorry for their children. I wasn’t a perfect parent, not by far but I tried my best. I worked hard to try and make my children understand what it might be like in another child’s shoes or yes, even adults. I didn’t want them to grow up being self absorbed and without compassion.

I’m sure some people laugh because they become embarrassed and just don’t know what to say after their child says something like that. Next time for your own sake, you need a line that will make yourself laugh and maybe the parent- something that could be an icebreaker? “Yea but did you notice my cool shoes and guess who gave me the shirt I’m wearing… [insert a popular cartoon character if the child is fairly young] or popular TV, Sports or Music star.
