Ruminating thoughts are SO common with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. So many of us struggle with thoughts that won’t leave and we feel if we shared them with others, they’d think we were truly going off the deep end, or we’d exhaust them. I’ve been trying to replace those thoughts with happy thoughts from my childhood. I think of the simple pleasures like fireflies, butterflies, the stars at night, waves crashing to shore, the smell of the forest after a rain storm, not being afraid to go outside and get wet because we loved playing in the rain and puddles.

Life was magical when we were young and innocent, these thoughts help me to remember the magic is still there beyond the terror within our minds.

Wishing you the best!
