I’d love to know how Medium determines how much one person is paid vs. another.

It can’t be the number of followers, I have over 1k, and I can’t say I’ve made a lot of money since I began using the Medium Partner program.

Maybe I’m just a shitty writer, I’ve never had an article featured with the exception of the Mental Health Category but nothing on the home page.

The last 3–4 MH articles I wrote and tagged didn’t get a feature in any category I chose so I sort of lost my lust a bit.

I will continue writing but I’m not going to break my back. I don’t mean to sound sour, it’s just a bit disappointing when I read an article that is very hard to understand then I read other articles that are true to life, relatable and yet they are not featured, so it’s not just about me, there are many great writers on this site who I feel should be featured and haven’t been.

Maybe one day we’ll find out how this whole thing works!
