I wrote this letter while you were still alive, I never had the nerve to share it with you because you didn’t want to talk about death and dying. You were focused on living. I have regrets that I never shared this but something tells me, you would not have been ready to read it.
Dear Mom,
You brought me into this world out of love.
One day you will leave this world & I will have to find peace in knowing the deep love we shared. No one can ever take that from my heart.
You were strong for me so many times over the years when I was not able to be strong for myself. I must stay strong for you now.
You taught me unconditional love, because you gave your love unconditionally.
You taught me compassion, because you’ve always had deep compassion for everyone you love.
You taught me how to forgive, by virtue of the way you live your life.
You taught me never to go to sleep angry, because “Tomorrow may never come.”
You taught me how to nurture others, because it came naturally to you. You have continued to nurture others even when you your feeling weak.
Your love for life is contagious. Your love to travel gave me the travel ‘bug,’ and I thank you for that. I don’t think…
